Missing man's body found in East Anchorage; no foul play suspected

The body of a man missing since March from an East Anchorage home was found in the area last weekend, according to Anchorage police, who say his death doesn't appear suspicious.

Jimmy Ekstrom, 44, was last seen March 10 when he left his aunt's home on the 3200 block of Penland Parkway, police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said. He "was upset over a recent breakup and he left without his wallet or cellphone," police said at the time.

Ekstrom's body was discovered Saturday on the east side of the Penland Park neighborhood.

"I do not know the exact cause of death but can tell you no foul play was involved," Oistad wrote in an email.

Next of kin for Ekstrom have been notified, Oistad said.
