Pedestrian killed in East Anchorage hit-and-run

A man was killed on Muldoon Road Saturday night by a driver who fled the scene, Anchorage police said.

The suspect vehicle was described by witnesses as a light-colored sport utility vehicle with bicycle-spoke rims, police said. No other information was immediately available.

The collision was reported around 8:40 p.m. at Muldoon and East 5th Avenue. Mldoon, between Duben Avenue and East 6th Avenue, was closed for several hours while police investigated.

It was the second fatal collision involving a pedestrian in East Anchorage in two days. On Thursday evening, a pedestrian was killed, and a driver hospitalized, after a collision at Bragaw Street and Northern Lights Boulevard.
