Rollover crash temporarily closes Seward Highway

The Seward Highway south of Anchorage near Potter Marsh was temporarily shut down early Saturday morning, Anchorage police said.

A 1999 Toyota sedan heading north crashed into the rock face near the weigh station, rolled over and burst into flames, police spokesman MJ Thim said. The driver, an adult woman, was the only person in the vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Thim said.

Police reported the highway closure around 4 a.m. All lanes were reopened about three hours later.
