The Seward Highway was reopened just before noon Thursday near Potter Marsh after a collision and fire, police said.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash, said Anchorage police spokeswoman Renee Oistad. One caught fire, she said, but there were only minor injuries.

"Tow trucks are in the process of being called and the road will get sanded as a result of (the Anchorage Fire Department) using water to put the fire out," Oistad said in an email.

The call for the crash came in at 10:39 a.m., Oistaid said. Police advised people to watch out for emergency vehicles in the area, near Mile 109 of the Seward Highway.
