Anchorage police say student intern from North Carolina found safe

Update, 6 p.m. Tuesday: "Taylor Davis has been located and is safe," Anchorage police said in an alert Tuesday evening.

Original story:

A 25-year-old law student from North Carolina was reported missing Monday after she failed to show up for work at a summer internship, police say.

The law firm where Taylor Davis is interning called police around 7:30 p.m. Monday to say she wasn't there and that was unusual, an Anchorage Police Department spokesman said.

Davis is a student at the University of South Carolina School of Law, according to spokesman MJ Thim. She has been in Anchorage for a month.

Davis was last seen downtown Saturday afternoon leaving her house near the 900 block of East 10th Avenue, according to a police alert. Police described her as white with curly hair, 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds. She was wearing a white shirt and pants.

Anyone who sees Davis can call police at 907-786-8900 or on the 311 non-emergency line and reference APD Case 18-27644.
