'Step Up to 9-11' challenge

In this eighth annual Firefighter Step Mill challenge, Alaska firefighters and community members will climb as many flights of stairs as possible in 11 minutes dressed in the full gear of a firefighter. Community members can donate to the cause or learn more by placing money in the boot at Alaska Club West. This challenge recognizes the firefighters lost at the World Trade Center in 2001. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Alaska Club West, 1400 W. Northern Lights Blvd. (alaskafirememorial.com)
