Anchorage police have released the names of the two men who died Wednesday in a collision on Tudor Road.

Police said a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Joshua Stafford, 29, was eastbound on Tudor after 9 p.m. when it sideswiped a Chevrolet Impala near Baxter Road.

Stafford continued driving for about half a mile before crossing over the center turn lane and into oncoming traffic near Patterson Road.

He collided head-on with a Subaru Legacy driven by 30-year-old Theodore Dickerson, investigators said.

Both men were alone in their cars and were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Impala, who called 911 to report the crash, received minor injuries.

Police said they are still investigating the collision circumstances.
