Anchorage woman dies in Palmer head-on collision

A 75-year-old Anchorage woman died and three other people were injured Saturday in a head-on collision in Palmer, the Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers arrived at the site of the crash, near the intersection of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Cottonwood Creek Circle in Palmer at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, the AST wrote in an online dispatch Sunday.

Three vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, troopers said. Three drivers and one passenger were taken to a hospital. Driver Vinitchai Hollenbeck, 75, of Anchorage died. The three other injured people sustained injuries not considered life-threatening, troopers said.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
