Seward Highway re-opens after accident near McHugh Creek

Update, 2:25 p.m. Sunday, July 7: Anchorage Police say the Seward Highway is open in both directions.

A vehicle accident on the Seward Highway near McHugh Creek is causing delays and a lane closure Sunday afternoon, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

The accident, which caused minor injuries, happened at Mile 113 of the highway, south of Anchorage near McHugh Creek. Police and medics are on the scene, according to the APD.

“Southbound lanes are closed,” the department said in a Nixle sent at 1:18 p.m. on Sunday. “Expect delays.”
