Woman struck by car on Minnesota Drive suffers life-threatening injuries

A woman walking across Minnesota Drive outside any crosswalk was critically injured early Friday morning, Anchorage police said.

A man driving a Toyota Camry was northbound on Minnesota near Spenard Road when the woman tried to cross and was struck by the car, police said. The driver had a green light.

The accident was reported at 12:50 a.m. Police did not identify the driver or the pedestrian. A police spokesman said there was no new information available Friday morning.

The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries police described as life threatening. An investigation continues.
