Police on Friday identified Justin Ching, 33, as the man who was killed when an SUV he was in crashed and rolled into Westchester Lagoon early Tuesday morning.

The SUV was traveling northbound on Minnesota Drive when it left the road and ultimately rolled into the eastern portion of the lagoon, according to police. Firefighters and police responded to the crash around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Two women who were also in the SUV were hospitalized with serious injuries, police said. According to police, none of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing seatbelts and all were ejected from the SUV.

Police initially believed there was a fourth person in the vehicle but later confirmed there were only three occupants.

Ching’s next of kin have been notified, the alert said.
