1 killed, 3 hurt in multivehicle collision on Glenn Highway

Update: Anchorage police said 68-year-old Leola Graf was the woman who died in the crash Sunday, according to an online alert Tuesday morning.

Original story:

One person died and three were hospitalized — one with critical injuries — after a collision Sunday afternoon involving three vehicles on the outbound Glenn Highway near the Muldoon exit.

The crash started with one full-size pickup striking another. A Honda Pilot was also struck, police wrote in an online report. Police were called to the scene at about 2:53 p.m.

A woman who was in the passenger seat of the first pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. Two adults whose conditions weren’t released were transported to a hospital, and one adult was transported with critical injuries, according to the report.

The circumstances of the collision were still under investigation, but officers believe speed and road conditions are both factors, police wrote.

The outbound Glenn was reopened around 7 p.m., and police said the road was “especially slick.”
