Anchorage schools, APU closed due to icy roads

The Anchorage School District has closed all schools for Monday due to icy conditions on secondary and neighborhood roads traveled by school buses.

A storm system is bringing high winds and rain to Southcentral Alaska. Anchorage temperatures are expected to rise as high as 44 degrees on Monday, melting much of last week’s snowfall and leaving roads slick.

Alaska Pacific University also canceled classes Monday, and a spokesman said students taking online classes should check APU email for instructions from professors.
