Original story:

More than 6,000 Chugach Electric customers are without power fed by a substation at Sand Lake, the utility says.

“The high winds are likely to make this a busy day,” Chugach said in a Twitter post Tuesday morning.

A smaller outage was affecting areas around Campbell Airstrip, Chugach Electric tweeted. An outage map shows a little over 250 customers without power.

Crews were en route to both areas. Most of the outages were reported just after 6 a.m., the map shows. The time power was expected to be restored was listed as just after 9 a.m.
