Glenn Highway reopens at Eagle River after police closure for death investigation

Update, 3:10 p.m. Saturday: All lanes are now open, Anchorage police said in an alert.

The southbound lanes of the Glenn Highway at the south Eagle River exit remain closed Saturday as police conduct a death investigation.

Police said in an alert that the westbound lane of the overpass at the south Eagle River exist is also closed, along with the frontage road. The bridge to Eagle River Road is still open to eastbound traffic, according to police.

As of 2:20 p.m., police said they were “still processing the scene and road closures are still in effect until further notice. ... There is no active public safety threat at this time.”

Additional details about the death investigation were not provided in the alert.
