A deceased individual was found Saturday afternoon at the base of a cliff near Eklutna Lake Road, Anchorage police said, adding that observations made at the scene have “warranted a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the death.”
The body, located in the 35000 block of Eklutna Lake Road, was reported to dispatch around 4 p.m. Saturday, police said in an alert. Patrol officers found the person at the bottom of the cliff with help from the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department and Anchorage Fire Department, according to police.
The Anchorage Police Department described the death as “suspicious” but didn’t provide additional information, except to say that the body belonged to an adult.
The body has been taken to the medical examiner for identification and determination of the cause of death, and the person’s identity will be released after next of kin have been notified, police said.
