A man died in a hospital early Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle at C Street and 48th Avenue in Midtown Anchorage, police said.
Southbound lanes of C Street near Tudor Road were reopened around 5:30 a.m. after officers investigated the incident that occurred just after midnight.
“The driver involved in the collision remained on-scene and was cooperative with the police investigation,” police said.
No further details of the crash, including the victim’s name, were immediately made available by police.
Two people were killed by vehicle strikes in separate incidents over the weekend in Anchorage, and police said one involved a driver who fled the scene.
At least nine people have died in Anchorage this year after being struck by vehicles, according to police.
