Crews contain fire at Eagle River fourplex; no injuries reported

A fire that blazed through an Eagle River fourplex Saturday evening was quickly contained, and no injuries were reported, an Anchorage Fire Department official said.

The fire appeared to have started in a unit on the second floor of a multifamily home located on the 16400 block of Heritage Court in Eagle River near the Glenn Highway, Assistant Fire Chief Alex Boyd said Saturday evening.

By 6:45 p.m., the fire had been contained, and all residents had made it safely out of the building, Boyd said. Dispatchers first received a call about the fire at about 6:05 p.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, and around 15 units remained on scene to clean up Saturday evening.

An unknown number of residents were displaced by the fire, according to Boyd.
