Police investigating after 2 men found dead at Russian Jack Park in East Anchorage

Anchorage police say they are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found in Russian Jack Springs Park in East Anchorage.

According to a community alert from police, officers responded to 1600 Lidia Selkregg Lane in Russian Jack Springs Park South around 3:15 p.m. Thursday for a report of two adults who were dead. Asked about the location and under what circumstances the people were found, spokesperson Cherie Zajdzinski said Anchorage police had nothing to add “as it is an active investigation.”

Both were male, police said Friday. No additional information was available.

The address on Lidia Selkregg Lane corresponds to the chalet and parking lot in the southern half of the park. A chalet worker said Thursday that when police arrived, they asked to be directed toward a pavilion near the Russian Jack Springs Golf Course.

The Anchorage Police Department’s crime scene team responded to the area. No streets were closed to traffic.

Police said that the cause of death for both men will be determined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
