Seward Highway driver injured in rollover crash at Beluga Point

A driver was injured in a rollover crash that closed the Seward Highway in both directions at Beluga Point south of Anchorage on Wednesday morning, according to police.

Police said the road closed around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and reopened by about 10:50 a.m. The driver of the vehicle that rolled suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Renee Oistad.

Beluga Point is a popular wildlife viewing pullout along Turnagain Arm located 6 1/2 miles south of Anchorage city limits.
