Police investigate East Anchorage shooting

Anchorage police responded to a shooting off Muldoon Road on Saturday afternoon and found no victims, but soon afterward, they were called to a local hospital after a man showed up with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police spokeswoman Nora Morse wrote in a statement that officers responded to a call about gunfire at the 300 block of Standish Street around 1:30 p.m. No victims were at the scene.

Then, "at 1:58 p.m. officers responded to a local hospital (on) reports of one adult male dropped off with non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the upper body," Morse wrote.

The police department believes the two events are related, but citing an ongoing investigation, police said there is no suspect information or additional details to release.

Police have spoken with the man at the hospital, Morse said, but she could not confirm whether he provided investigators with additional information.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call dispatchers at 907-786-8900, or to submit anonymous tips through Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 907-561-7867.
