A man was found dead last week on an ATV trail just off the Parks Highway in Houston.

On Monday, Alaska State Troopers said they are investigating the death of Patrick McMullen, 32, as a homicide.

McMullen was a Wasilla resident.

His vehicle was found in a pullout at Mile 59 of the Parks Highway, and his body was on a nearby trail.

Troopers ask that anyone who traveled that section of the highway after 9 p.m. Nov. 1 and saw vehicles at the pullout or anything suspicious to call them. Tipsters can reach the Palmer post at 907-352-5401 and should reference case number AK17078337.

Troopers originally said they were notified at 8:47 a.m. Thursday that the man's body was found in a ditch.

Investigators aren't talking publicly about the case and won't say how the man died or what kind of vehicle he had.
