Anchorage police investigating Friday night shooting downtown

Anchorage police said Friday night that they were investigating a shooting that happened downtown at Fourth Avenue and D Street.

Just after 10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to gunshots at that location, police said in a written statement. A man found at the scene was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, the statement said. He had one gunshot wound, police spokeswoman Nora Morse said in an email.

Two suspects left the scene, the police statement said. As of Friday evening, police had no suspect information to release.

Police are asking people with information about the incident to call the Anchorage Police Department at 907-786-8900.
