Kortez Brown, 33, died after a shooting in East Anchorage on Saturday night, according to Anchorage police.

Responding to a call at 9:53 p.m., police said in a statement Sunday that they found a man, later identified as Brown, with a gunshot wound on the 8000 block of 36th Avenue, just off the Muldoon-Tudor curve near the Chugach Foothills neighborhood.

He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and did not survive, according to a follow-up statement released Sunday afternoon.

Police did not provide any information about the circumstances of the shooting or whether the man was inside or outside a home or vehicle.
