Shots were fired in a mobile home park in East Anchorage on Sunday night, leaving one woman injured.
The call about the shooting came in at 10:04 p.m., MJ Thim, Anchorage Police Department spokesman, said Monday. It occurred on the 5900 block of Sixth Avenue, east of Russian Jack Springs Park.
Officers found several shell casings and bullet holes, but they found no victims, Thim said.
About 45 minutes after police arrived, a woman with a gunshot wound in the upper body arrived at a hospital for treatment, Thim said. The wound was not life-threatening, he said.
Officers have determined the woman was hit while she was inside a home. Police were investigating whether the woman had any connection with the shooters.
They're asking for tips from the public, including surveillance video. Witnesses can call police dispatch at 907-786-8900. Anonymous tips can be provided at 907-561-STOP (7867) or anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
Police had no indication that the shooting was connected to another Anchorage shooting Sunday night that left a man dead, Thim said. Police received reports of that shooting shortly after 8 p.m. and found the man's body in a mobile home off Spenard Road north of 36th Avenue.
