Troopers searching for Emmonak man who escaped arrest

The Alaska State Troopers are looking for an Emmonak man who escaped from arrest after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Saturday.

Troopers say Michael Redfox, 27, hit and strangled his girlfriend in the Western Alaska village of Emmonak.

A village police officer arrested Redfox but he was "able to escape from the custody of the VPO," according to an online trooper dispatch.

As of Sunday afternoon, troopers were still searching for Redfox.

Troopers want anyone with information about where he is to call the Emmonak trooper post 907-949-1300.
