Anchorage police investigate ‘suspicious death’ at Spenard apartment

The body of a man was found today inside a Spenard neighborhood apartment, with police calling the death suspicious.

The body was first reported at about 1 p.m. on the 1100 block of Chugach Way, police said in a written statement.

Around 4 p.m., officers with the Anchorage Police Department, and the agency's crime scene van, were on scene at an apartment complex at 1198 Chugach Way.

One officer stood outside of a second floor apartment that was cordoned off with yellow caution tape. Two other officers walked around the property, taking video footage of the area.

Police declined to answer additional questions Monday.
