16-year-old charged with murder in Mountain Village shooting

A 16-year-old shot and killed an 18-year-old in the Southwest Alaska village of Mountain Village last week, troopers said.

Ramond Landlord, 16, of Mountain Village was charged Sunday with first-degree murder, burglary, tampering with evidence and second-degree theft, online records show.

Coy Bryan, 18, was found dead in his home by a family member on the afternoon of April 24. An autopsy a few days later found that Bryan had been killed, according to Alaska State Troopers.

"Investigative leads were developed" tying Landlord to the homicide, according to troopers.

Troopers say Landlord shot and killed Bryan inside Bryan's home.

Landlord, a minor, "was waived automatically into the regular court system," troopers said. Landlord's first hearing was Sunday in Bethel. Bail was set at $750,000 plus a third-party custodian, troopers said.

Landlord was in custody at Bethel's Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center on Monday, online records showed.
