APD seeks ‘person of interest’ in fatal shooting

Anchorage police are looking for a 41-year-old man they're calling a "person of interest" in a fatal shooting Monday.

Geoffrey Sorden, 48, was shot and killed in an apartment on the 6000 block of Austin Street, near Old Seward Highway and Dowling Road. Police described the shooting as "targeted" and said it occurred after an altercation possibly involving money or drugs.

Police in an update Thursday said they're looking for Jason Premo, who was present during the shooting but left the scene before officers arrived. Officers want to "discuss what he may have witnessed," the update says.

Premo is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts can call the Anchorage Police Department's non-emergency line at 311 (option #1) or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
