Police seek man accused of hitting woman with shovel and vehicle

Anchorage police are seeking a man who they say hit his ex-girlfriend with a shovel and struck her with a vehicle.

According to police, at around 12:57 a.m. Sunday, officers arrived at a residence on Eklutna Village Road for a reported disturbance and found a woman with ripped clothing and visible injuries.

Police said the woman told them her ex-boyfriend, Christopher E. Clark-Stackhouse, 28, showed up at her house asking for money. The woman told police she picked up a shovel and told Clark-Stackhouse to leave, but instead of leaving he grabbed the shovel and beat her with it hard enough to break the handle.

Stackhouse then reportedly got into a vehicle and drove toward the woman, striking her at least once.

Police said Clark-Stackhouse fled the scene with the woman's backpack. Police weren't able to find him, so they obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of third- and fourth-degree assault and second-degree theft.

Clark-Stackhouse is described as being 5-foot-10 and weighing 250 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.
