Troopers pull over Fairbanks felon and find body armor, illegal handguns

Troopers in North Pole pulled over a man in an early morning traffic stop Sunday only to discover he was a felon wearing body armor and illegally carrying handguns.

At 12:43 a.m. on Sunday troopers pulled Teddy Aceves of Fairbanks, 23, over for "several equipment violations," the Alaska State Troopers said in an online dispatch Sunday.

Aceves was wearing body armor and didn't tell police he had two guns, according to troopers. Aceves, who has a 2016 felony robbery conviction, was not supposed to be in possession of any guns.

He faces weapons misconduct and probation violation charges.
