Anchorage police: Four stolen vehicles recovered, 19-year-old arrested

Four stolen vehicles were recovered Wednesday evening from a single cul-de-sac in East Anchorage, the Anchorage Police Department said in an online statement.

At 4:48 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a stolen white Dodge pickup in a mobile home park on the 1500 block of Hoyt Street in East Anchorage, near DeBarr Road.

The truck had been stolen that morning from a home in the city's Hillside neighborhood, on the 5800 block of Prominence Point Drive. Police believe that a spare key for the truck was stolen when, a few days prior, the truck owner's wife had her bag stolen from an unlocked vehicle at a pizza restaurant.

Once officers arrived at the mobile home park, another vehicle – a maroon Ford Explorer – began to back out of the cul-de-sac. It reversed around a patrol vehicle and then hit a parked red Ford F-150, police said.

At that point, another officer pulled behind the Explorer to keep it from moving father backward. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Kerisiano Isaako, then drove forward, hitting the bumper of the first officer's patrol car, then driving into a chain-link fence.

Isaako ran from the scene, through the trailer park about 50 yards, until he fell to the ground and was arrested, police said.

The Ford Explorer Isaako had been driving was found to be stolen, police said. A key to the stolen white Dodge Ram – the original reason police had responded to the scene — was found in Isaako's pocket, police said. Two stolen shotguns were found inside the Explorer.

Near the maroon Explorer was a third vehicle, a 2016 brown Ford Explorer. The brown Explorer had been stolen that morning from the Marriott Residence Inn on East 35th Avenue.

Then, officers found another key near the Explorer that fit the 2016 Ford F-150 pickup that was parked next to the other cars in the mobile home park and struck by the driver backing up. The F-150 had been stolen from the Marriott Residence Inn that same morning; spare keys to that truck and the brown Explorer were both in the F-150 when stolen, police said.

Officers ran the plates on the other vehicles in the cul-de-sac and found a fourth stolen vehicle, a 2005 blue Honda Accord. That car had been stolen on Aug. 19 from the 6800 block of Gold Kings Circle. A spare key had been in the center console when it was stolen, police said.

Isaako was taken to the Anchorage jail, police said. He was charged with three counts of first-degree vehicle theft, three counts of second-degree vehicle theft, firearm theft, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, assault, criminal mischief, and violating conditions of release.
