APD: Man wounded in shooting after argument with suspect

A man was shot in the upper body in a Fairview neighborhood early Tuesday after an altercation, police said.

The man called 911 around 8:25 a.m. and was taken to a hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening, according to an Anchorage Police Department update.

The victim and the suspect were involved in an altercation in an area behind the Black Angus Inn on Gambell Street, police said. Officers briefly closed Fairbanks Street between 14th and 15th avenues to investigate the shooting.
