APD: SUV involved in hotel shooting found unoccupied in Eagle River

Anchorage police said Wednesday morning the suspect Ford Expedition was found unoccupied in Eagle River.

Anchorage police are asking for the public's help in finding an SUV suspected to have been used in a shooting at the Black Angus Inn on Monday.

A maroon 1998 Ford Expedition with Alaska license plate JFD440 is being sought by police, the Anchorage Police Department said in a statement.

"If you see this vehicle OCCUPIED, please call 9-1-1. If you see the vehicle UNOCCUPIED, please call non-emergency Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1)," police wrote.

At 4:20 p.m. Monday, police responded to the hotel at 1430 Gambell St. for a report of a shooting, police said.

The driver of the vehicle got into "some type of altercation" with a man, whom the driver then shot in the lower body.

"It appears this was not a random event," police said Monday.
