A shooting Tuesday near Wasilla left one person dead and another injured outside a residence, Alaska State Troopers say.

Troopers responded to a report of the shooting just after 5 p.m. in the Williwaw subdivision off Bogard Road, troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said.

Medics pronounced 29-year-old Joshua Kelsey dead at the scene, according to a dispatch posted late Tuesday and updated Wednesday. They arrested Christopher Lorentsen, 31, of Wasilla, pending arraignment.

Investigation revealed that Lorentsen and Kelsey got into an argument and shots were fired, striking Kelsey as well as a woman, troopers said. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of a leg wound.

Lorentsen is being held at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility without bail on charges of murder, attempted murder and assault.
