Fatal shooting of 19-year-old in East Anchorage may have been linked to drugs, police say

An East Anchorage shooting that killed a man and hospitalized another with life-threatening injuries early Sunday was an isolated incident possibly linked to drugs, police said.

Tion Price, 19, was killed, police said in an update Monday. The victims and other people involved knew each other.

Police said they received a report of shots fired around midnight in the 300 block of Oklahoma Street, in the Muldoon neighborhood between Turpin Street and Muldoon Road.

Officers found three people injured outside an apartment building, police said over the weekend: Price, who was pronounced dead at the scene; a man shot in the upper body and taken to a hospital; and a woman who was “assaulted” and suffered less-serious injuries.

No arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon.

Police are asking anyone with information about this investigation, including surveillance video, to call Dispatch at 911 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP.
