APD: Woman with life-threatening gunshot wound found lying on Midtown street

A woman found unconscious on a Midtown Anchorage street early Thursday had a life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body, police said.

Officers responded just after midnight to multiple calls about an injured woman lying on the 3400 block of Eureka Street, just off C Street. Police said in a 1:11 a.m. alert that the woman was later found to have been shot in a nearby apartment.

Robbery and assault detectives were dispatched, and an investigation was ongoing.

“Detectives are still seeking witnesses with information, including surveillance video in the general area of Eureka Street and 34th Avenue, to help determine exactly what happened and identify suspects,” the alert said.
