A man charged with murder in the death of a 69-year-old Fairbanks woman was arrested Friday, Alaska State Troopers said.
A trooper spotted Patrick Marsh, 25, walking near Badger Road and Hartzog Loop in Fairbanks just before 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to an online dispatch. Marsh was wanted in the death of Trisha Pearson, who was found dead in her home on Yankovich Road early Monday.
A criminal complaint filed Tuesday says a home video surveillance system installed by one of Pearson’s tenants captured images of Marsh strangling Pearson and striking her with furniture, according to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
Marsh initially provided a false name to the trooper but was identified after being taken into custody, according to the dispatch. Court records show he is facing one count of first-degree murder.
