Suspect arrested in Muldoon bank robbery that led to SWAT callout

The man suspected of robbing a Muldoon bank over the weekend was arrested Wednesday by a multiagency task force, Anchorage police said.

Police closed roads near Muldoon Road and Boundary Avenue for about an hour Saturday while SWAT officers searched for a suspect in the robbery of Credit Union 1 at 4020 DeBarr Road.

Anchorage police spokesman MJ Thim said anonymous tips from the public led to the suspect’s arrest.

Authorities did not immediately release the name of the suspect Wednesday.

Thim referred questions about the robbery and suspect to the FBI Anchorage field office, which did not immediately respond to a call Wednesday.
