Police say they’re investigating death of 37-year-old man in East Anchorage camp

UPDATE noon Wednesday:

Anchorage police have identified the man found dead as Larry Brown, 37.

The cause of death has yet to be determined by the medical examiner, police said.

Anchorage police Saturday were investigating the death of a man in a camp in woods off Tudor Road.

Few details were being released but police described the death as suspicious.

Around 4:30 p.m., police and the fire department responded to “a wooded camp area,” on the south side of Tudor Road near the intersection of Piper Street, police said in an alert. “While the cause of death is still under investigation, his death is suspicious in nature,” police wrote.

Investigators were on the scene and police were asking anyone with information about the death to call 311.
