2 family members found dead in Palmer home were shot to death, troopers say

Two of the three family members found dead last week in a Palmer home were shot to death, troopers said Monday in an alert.

Troopers were called to the Cottrell Campus Drive home on Tuesday night for a welfare check and found the bodies of 71-year-old Gerald Brown, 70-year-old Karen Brown and 42-year-old Jeffery Brown, the alert said. Ken Marsh, a spokesman for the troopers, said the three people were related.

Gerald and Karen Brown had been shot, but the state medical examiner has not determined what caused Jeffery Brown’s death, troopers wrote. Toxicology results are pending.

Troopers said they do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
