Massage therapist charged with sexual assault may have additional victims, Anchorage police say

A 36-year-old “licensed traveling masseuse” from Anchorage has been jailed on sexual assault charges, and police say he may have more victims.

Jason Karpinski was arrested on a warrant Thursday after detectives began investigating a report that he sexually assaulted someone in September, according to an Anchorage Police Department alert. Karpinski was jailed at the Anchorage Correctional Complex.

Karpinski responded to clients’ homes to provide services, police said. He used social media for outreach. He was also employed at Midtown Chiropractic in 2019.

Karpinski’s massage license was surrendered to the state and he no longer holds a valid license, police said.

Detectives say they believe there may be more victims who have had contact with Karpinski, who is described as 6 feet tall and weighing 290 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who believes they were a victim of Karpinski or has information regarding this investigation can contact Detective Kevin Palmatier at 907-786-8771 or kevin.palmatier@anchorageak.gov.
