Burglars steal ATM from Butte cannabis store

Two masked men took an ATM from a cannabis store in Butte early Monday, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers were called to Matanuska Cannabis Co. at 3:45 a.m. after the security alarm went off, said public information officer Tim DeSpain.

Two masked men pulled the gate open using a tow strap on their truck and used a pry bar to open the main door, DeSpain said. Once inside the store, the men used a dolly to load an ATM into their truck, which troopers described in an online statement as a two-tone blue F-150 vehicle.

The men were gone by the time troopers arrived and had last been seen driving south on Old Glenn Highway, according to the statement.

Troopers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or with information about it to call dispatch at 907-352-5401 or crime stoppers at 907-745-3333.
