No arrests made in fatal shooting of Wasilla woman, troopers say

A woman was shot to death by a member of her family at her Wasilla home early Monday, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers and the Wasilla Police Department were notified around 4 a.m. that 43-year-old Christina Jackson had been shot, troopers said. First responders rendered aid, but Jackson died at the scene.

Jackson lived at the house with a man and two juveniles, troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel said. All members of the household were there when the shooting occurred, he said. Troopers have talked with everyone at the home.

Limited information was available Tuesday about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No arrests had been made.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation Mat-Su Valley Major Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting, troopers said. The State Medical Examiner Office will conduct an autopsy.
