A Wednesday night pickup truck crash in Kasilof on the Kenai Peninsula left a teenager dead and two people injured.
Alaska State Troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash on Kalifornsky Beach Road at about 9:05 p.m., according to a statement. They found that the driver, 34-year-old Johnna Angleton, was "southbound in a 2003 Ford pickup when she lost control of the vehicle, driving off the road and crashing into the ditch."
One of Angleton's passengers, 17-year-old Mykha Slater of Sterling, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Angleton and the other passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
