An 18-year-old from Wasilla died from a fall while hiking in Hatcher Pass on Friday.
According to an Alaska State Troopers online report posted early Saturday morning, Zachary Campbell "died of injuries sustained from a fall off an elevated position on the ridgeline."
Troopers said they were called at around 5:33 p.m. for a report of a missing hiker near Skyscraper Ridge.
A search was launched involving troopers and Mat-Su Borough Emergency Services, and Campbell's body was transferred to the State Medical Examiner's Office. Troopers said Campbell's next of kin was notified at the scene.
