Woman killed in single vehicle rollover on Talkeetna Spur Road, troopers say

A 37-year-old Talkeetna woman died early Tuesday morning on the Talkeetna Spur Road after her car left the road “at a high rate of speed” and rolled multiple times, Alaska State Troopers say.

Raeleen Shandley was the only person in the vehicle, troopers said. The accident was reported at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday. Shandley was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Impala, according to a troopers spokesman.

The vehicle came to rest on its wheels off the road but Shandley was ejected during the crash and died as the result of her injuries, troopers said. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers couldn’t immediately provide more information about what may have caused the car to go off the road.
