Anchorage resident killed, 3 passengers injured in single-vehicle accident on Parks Highway

One person died and three others were injured in a single-vehicle accident on the Parks Highway in Willow on Saturday morning, Alaska State Troopers said.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at Mile 75 of the highway, which is near Capitol Speedway.

The vehicle was southbound when it “left the roadway, self recovered, then left the roadway again” and rolled over before landing upright, troopers said in an update Saturday night.

Anchorage resident Johnny Sheldon, 47, was ejected and died at the scene, troopers said. Three passengers were transported to different hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

An investigation continues.
