PALMER -- A magnitude 4.8 earthquake Wednesday afternoon was centered about 50 miles north of Talkeetna but felt across a wide range of Southcentral and Interior Alaska.
The quake, which occurred just after 2:15 p.m., had an epicenter 41 miles southeast of Kantishna and was 61 miles deep, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center. More than 140 reports came in from people who felt the shaking within an hour of the event.
Reports ranged from Moose Pass to Fairbanks.
