4 Susitna Valley schools shift to remote learning amid heavy snowfall

A spring snowstorm prompted a shift to remote learning for four Susitna Valley schools Wednesday due to new heavy snowfall and hazardous road conditions

Su Valley Jr/Sr High School as well as Talkeetna, Trapper Creek and Willow elementary schools closed to in-person learning, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District district officials announced early Wednesday morning.

The area remained under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday, with forecasters calling for total accumulations of 6 to 10 inches, up to 14 inches in some places.
